" Lavar Scott and Blake Lothian split Heritage Finance Late Model Twin 40s at Hickory Motor Speedway"

 

9/11/21 - Saturday night would see the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series back in action at Hickory Motor Speedway.

The Heritage Finance Late Models would lead off the night's action with race one of a Twin 40 lap doubleheader. Blake Lothian in the #59 would set fast time in qualifying and start from the top spot with Lavar Scott in the #34 to his outside. Row two would see Regina Sirvent in the #10 and Jessie Cann in the #19 to her outside for the green flag. Lothian and Scott would go door to door for the early lead and swap the postion a couple of times before Scott would pull to the top spot. Scott, Lothian, Sirvent, JP Dyar in #21, and Ricky Bruce in #X would make up the top five at the halfway point. The caution would fly on lap 36 as Bruce would roll to a stop in turn two as sparks would fly from under his car. Scott and Lothian would bring the field back to the restart. Scott would get the better start and pull back to the lead. Lothian and Sirvent would give chase, but run out of laps. Scott would prove too strong and drive on to the win. Lothian would take 2nd with Sirvent finishing 3rd. Dyar would grab 4th and Bruce would come home in 5th.

The Renegades would hit the track next for 20 laps of racing action. Spencer Dickinson in the #6 would top time trials and start from the pole position with Brandon Hasson in the #82 to his outside. David Hasson in the #83 and Matthew Chambers in the #81 would start side by side in row two. Dickinson would move to the early lead, but face a set challenge from the Hasson family, Brandon and David. David Hasson would move around his son for second place. Robbie Hollifield in the #51 would start shotgun on the field and move to second place early, moving around Brandon and David Hasson. The caution would fly on lap 14 as David Hasson would roll to a stop in turn two. Dickinson and Hollifield would bring the field back to the restart. Dickinson would move back to the lead as Hollifield would face pressure for second. Dickinson would drive on to take the win. Hollifield would finish 2nd with Brandon Hasson taking 3rd. David Hasson would grab 4th and Matthew Chambers would come home in 5th.

The Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Models would pound the famed 3/8 mile oval next for 35 laps of racing action. Bryson Ruff in the #24 would set fast time in qualifying and start from the top spot with Mason Maggio in the #12 to his outside. Row two would see Max Price in the #22 and Skyler Chaney in the #17 to his outside for the green flag. Ruff would pull to the early lead with Maggio giving chase. Price and Chaney would battle door to door for the first five laps for third until Price would nose ahead. The battle for fifth would be exciting as Josh Stark in the #32 would have it and Graham Hollar in the #25 would want it. Ruff, Maggio, Price, Chaney, and Stark would be the top five at the halfway point. Lap 25 would see Hollar make the pass on Stark for fifth. Ruff would drive on to take the win. Maggio would finish 2nd and Price would take 3rd. Chaney would grab 4th and Hollar would grab a top five in 5th.

Next up would be the Heritage Finance Street Stocks for 30 laps of excitement. Jesse Clark in the #5 would top time trials and start from the pole position with Derek Fowler in the #31 to his outside. Marshall Sutton in the the #64 and John Clark in the #5x would start side by side in row two. Jesse Clark would move to the early lead with Fowler close behind. Fowler would look to move around Jesse Clark several times over the first several laps, but would have to settle in to second. Sutton would settle into third ahead of John Clark and the #2 of Ethan Johnson. Jesse Clark would prove too strong and take the win. Fowler would finish 2nd and Sutton would take 3rd. John Clark would finish 4th and Johnson would take 5th.

The Super Trucks would hit the track next for their 35 lap feature. Charlie Watson in the #9 would set fast time in qualifying and start from the top spot with Zac Fowler in the #4 to his outside. Row two would see Jacob Weidman in the #77 and Duane Cook in the #17 to his outside for the green flag. Watson would pull to the early lead as Weidman would challenge Fowler for second. Joey Shuryan in the #30 and Allen Huffman in the #51 would bring out the caution on lap 7 as they would spin in turn two. The restart would see Watson and Fowler bring the field back to the green flag. Watson would move back to the lead with Fowler in tow. Ricky Dennie in the #6 would challenge Weidman for third over a span of about ten laps. Watson would drive on to the win. Fowler would finish 2nd and Weidman would take a close battle for 3rd. Dennie would have to settle for 4th and Huffman would come home in 5th.  

The Heritage Finance Late Models would close out the evening with their final 40 lap feature. After a car invert from the finishing order of race one, JP Dyar in the #21 and Regina Sirvent in the #10 would make up row one for the green flag. Row two would see Blake Lothian in the #59 and Lavar Scott in the #34 side by side for the green flag. Dyar would nose ahead on the backstretch, however Lothian would dive under both Dyar and Sirvent and make the battle for the lead a three wide affair. Lothian would take the lead as Sirvent would move to second. Scott would work his way around Dyar for third. The battle for second would heat up among teammates as Sirvent would face pressure from Scott for the position. Scott would take the spot and look to catch the leader, Lothian. Lothian, Scott, Sirvent, Dyar, and the #X of Ricky Bruce would be the top five at the halfway point. Lothian and Scott would spend the final 15 laps with only inches separating the two. Lothian would take the win by a half car length. Scott would take 2nd and Sirvent would finish 3rd. Dyar would grab 4th and Bruce would come home 5th.

Next week the NAAPWS will be back in action next week for their season finale. Point Championships will be determined.
