Josh Berry Finds Victory in Round 3 of the

Paramount KIA Big-10 Race Challenge for Direct TV Night at the Races

(Newton, NC - - April 26, 2014) Fans enjoyed an action packed event at the Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars Saturday night and Josh Berry would find his way to Victory Lane in the third round of the Paramount KIA Big-10 Racing Challenge during DirectTV Night at the Races. Four other drivers also enjoyed the taste of victory by picking up wins in their respective divisions, Monty Cox (No. 21) in the Gold King Limited Late Models, Kevin Townsend (No. 10) in the Street Stocks, Kenneth Roberts (No. 8) in the WrenchRags Renegades and Devin O'Connell (No. 43) in the Allison Legacy Series.

William Byron (No. 9) posted the fastest qualifying speed providing him the opportunity to lead the 21-car NASCAR Whelen All American Series Bojangles' Late Model field to the green flag for the third round of the Paramount KIA Big-10 Racing Challenge. Byron remained out front until the No. 7 of Ashley Huffman challenged for the lead, taking over the position on lap 14. Huffman's run in the top spot didn't last long, as he pulled into the pits on lap 21 following a caution period when the machine of Landon Huffman (No. 75) expired. As green-flag racing resumed, the No. 88 of Josh Berry shot to the front. A long green-flag run ensued allowing Berry to pace the field and drive to Victory Lane. The No. 44 of Dillon Bassett, Byron, No. 12 of Austin McDaniel and the No. 88 of Doug Barnes finished second through fifth, respectively.

Travis Byrd, driver of the No. 77 Gold King Limited Late Model, led the field to the green flag for the division's 35-lap event, but relinquished the top spot on the first lap when the No. 21 of Monty Cox vaulted to the lead. Cox would pace the field leaving Byrd, the No. 5 of Dexter Canipe Jr. and the No. 7 of Taylor Stricklin to battle for position. Canipe Jr. was running in the second position when he experienced an issue that would bring his car into the pits, allowing Byrd to settle into second and Stricklin into third, where they would ultimately finish. Cox picked up the victory. The No. 51 of Jeremy Pelfrey and the No. 1 of Trent Barnes finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

The No. 10 of Kevin Townsend earned the pole position for the 30-lap Street Stock race, went on to survive multiple restarts and led every lap on his way to Victory Lane. While Townsend remained out front, the No. 2 of Larry Mosher, No. 03 of Kevin Eby and the No. 3 Chase Pollard all battled for a spot within the top three. The No. 64 of Marshall Sutton also worked his way into the mix following a lap-14 restart and settled into the top three by lap 20. Mosher went on to finish in the second position, Sutton third, Pollard fourth and Eby fifth.

The No. 16 of Carroll McKinney brought the WrenchRags Renegades field to the green flag for their 20-lap event and held onto the top spot until lap 18 when his car came to a crawl on the backstretch. The No. 8 of Kenneth Roberts had worked his way into the top three early in the race and was running second when McKinney slowed, allowing him the opportunity to grab the lead and the checkered flag. The No. 6 of Darren Dickinson, No. 77 of Shawn Hayes, McKinney and the No. 85 of Dustin Walker rounded out the top five.

The Allison Legacy Series brought DirectTV Night at the Races to a close as the No. 98 of Hunter Moody led the field to the green flag for the 35-lap race. It didn't take long for the caution-flag to wave as the No. 7 of Daniel Bedford and the No. 61 of Tyler Farris connected and headed hard into the outside wall of turn one. Moody remained out front during the caution filled event and fought off several challenges by the No. 43 of Devin O'Connell, until the final lap when O'Connell edged out Moody for the win. Moody, the No. 97 of Ian Isringhausen, No. 5 of Jantzen Stirewalt and the No. 29 of Jake Ruggles completed the top five.
